Volunteering

Are you looking for an avenue for serving God?
Do you feel that there is something you should be doing but aren't quite sure what it is?

How do I become a volunteer?
If you want to work in the center with clients, you will need to take the first step, which is our volunteer training seminar.  Contact one of our centers for the time and place of the next seminar.  A packet of information will be sent to you.

If I take the training am I automatically a volunteer?
No.  The training does not obligate you or the center.  If you decide, after taking the training, that you want to volunteer, you will complete an application with references, and be interviewed by a Director.  This process will help us and you determine if God is calling you to work with the CPC.

Should I take the training even if I don't volunteer?
Yes!  There is a wealth of information on communication, sharing the Gospel, and helping others in crisis.  You will be able to use this in your local church work or as you interact with friends, family and others in the community.

What is the time commitment for a volunteer?
Receptionists, Service Coordinators, Clothing Room Personnel:  One 4-hour shift per week (usually 9-1 or 1-5).  We are open 1 night a week at each center with a 3-hour shift available.

What is it like to work at the CPC?
You might have assumed that because we work with people in crisis that the CPC might be a depressing place to work.  On the contrary, the CPC is a very joyful environment!  The centers are truly anointed places where you will share and grow as a Christian.  You will enjoy your time in the center so much that you will look forward each week to your shift and not want to miss!

Does CPCPR share the Gospel?
Yes!  You will be trained how to share the Gospel with clients who have an interest in knowing more about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Is the CPC a part of a certain denomination or church?
No, the CPC Pregnancy Resources is a inter-denominational, non-profit Christian ministry.  Many Quad City churches, businesses, and individuals are part of our financial support base.

Are all clients in crisis pregnancies or in a low-income bracket?
No, there are no age, income or circumstance restrictions.  We offer services for any woman who is pregnant, as well as other related services.  All of our services are free and confidential.

Is CPC Pregnancy Resources a medical facility?
Yes, the CPC has an OBGYN Medical Director, a RN Nurse Manager, and Ultrasound Sonographers. The only medical service that we provide is ultrasound. Our pregnancy tests are client administered tests. Pregnancy Verification is provided only through ultrasound.

Does the CPC show graphic pictures of abortion?
No. Our centers do not show graphic pictures, videos or brochures of aborted babies.  We believe such tactics can close down the communication process with a client because she may feel traumatized by bloody abortion pictures.  Our purpose is to minister to the women without any manipulation or intimidation.
